Who are we?

Doug Anderson has been fulfilling the needs of fellow entertainers, businesses, organizations and churches since 1998. Doug and his partners collaborate to design, host and maintain web sites for a variety of needs.

How long has Doug been in business of web design?

We have been designing, hosting and maintaining for over seven years. Now that doesn't sound like a whole bunch of time, but when you consider how new the internet really is (remember back in '97 when a 20GB hard drive was considered HUGE!), why, that makes Doug a veteran.

Who are Doug's clients?

Doug has developed websites for comedians, magicians, jugglers, pianists, bands, theaters, music stores, real estate agents and non-profit churches and prison ministries. See Featured Clients

What about updates and revisions to a web site?

Minimal updates and revisions are included in the fee. Major overhauls of photo albums, video, content rewrite are billed by the hour. Of course if you chose the .asp version, you can make the textual changes yourself!

What do you mean by 'content'?

Content is the actual text/photos/video/flash (we use swish) that make up a website (including but not limited to navigational buttons, themes, etc.) In fact, you're reading content right now! Doug and his partners  can create your content for you, or you can simply email the information directly to them. We can also help you redo the content on your existing website.

If you secure it for us, who actually owns the domain (website) name?

YOU will own it once the agreement commitment is fulfilled. We maintain control of the user name/password until the end of the 2nd year. Most of our clients have found it easier for us to keep track of the domain for them.  As long as your financial commitment is concluded (within or beyond the two year commitment) it is your right to take control of the domain name & use another server, webmaster or do it yourself. We'd hate to see you go and would respectfully ask you give us the chance to "right any perceived wrong" prior to making a change.

If you create it for us, who actually owns the content?

You do. Actually it's the same as the domain name question above. For a modest $15 fee we will burn to disc (DVD for larger sites) the latest version of your site & as long as your account is paid in full, we will mail you the disc.

We already have a website but want a new webmaster. Is it less expensive to redesign a web site than create an all new one?

Most times, yes. Having the web site in place with content can save some development time and money. It will also depend on how difficult it is to change your registrar to our hosting servers and if you want to upgrade the quality of photos and/or videos.

What about photos?   Example:

Doug and his partners can provide photography services (or arrange for) for many of the sites they develop. You can also send us your photos for use. Regardless of how we acquire them, we will work to enhance your photos including sharpening, color correction and optimizing them to create online images that load quickly. (return to top)

What about special artwork?

If you'd like special artwork for your website we suggest contacting Anne at www.skysthelimitcreations.com. After agreeing on your special needs she can then send the finished artwork to us for use on your site. Note: We do not take a "commission" for her work. You will be responsible for paying Anne directly and any fees incurred are not included in our price.

Do you do Flash animation?

We use a version of Flash called Swish (also called "flash lite" but not associated with Flash) which is easier to use and less expensive, thus keeping your costs low.

What is "hosting?"

Web site hosting makes your web site viewable 24/7 via the internet. Web site files are stored on computers called servers. Since these servers are always connected to the internet, your site will always be available for viewing. If you have cable, satellite or DSL access you could (but NOT recommended) host it yourself, but if your power ever went out, if your computer ever got a virus, if you ever turned your computer off your site would no longer be visible on the world wide web.

Will Doug host our sites, or "farm it out"?

Since Doug is primarily an entertainer/web designer, he concentrates on designing/hosting/maintaining sites and hosts them "off site" on one of the many servers available that provide 24/7 service, backup and have an "uptime" (your site is "live" and viewable) of almost 100% (97%-99%) Your hosting service is included in the price. Always looking for the best deal for you, we use godaddy.com, ipowerweb.com and 1and1.com.

Will I have access to my website statistics?

On request we can set up a secure username & password to allow you to see the raw or filtered information, directly from the hosting company. (return to top)

How long does it take for Doug and his partners to develop a web site?

Most of Doug's projects are completed within a week of receiving your request. Once you get us whatever photos, video and text for content you want us to use we get started right away!

What does a typical web site cost?

Generally about a buck a day or about $300/year. If you need a custom themed look, special video services and/or flash creation our creation time increases as does your cost. Fully customized web sites start at $1,200 plus hosting. Your website cost will be determined by available content, your programming needs and time to develop your site. The fee for hosting doesn't start until we get final approval from you.

When do I send money?

We have a two year minimum commitment. Once we agree to build your site for you (and you agree to purchase our services) a 50% deposit fee for the first year is required upon signing the agreement. Once we pull the trigger on securing your domain name and server space for the minimum of two years the deposit becomes non-refundable.

The balance for the first year is due and payable once final approval is received or within 30 days of the bulk of the site's completion (not including minor tweaking and adjusting), whichever comes first. The full amount for the 2nd year is due approximately one year later (between eleven - twelve months after the final approval date).

How do I get money to you?

We accept personal checks, money orders and PayPal.

Once final approval is completed, can I add to my site?

Of course we can. Simply email us the new text/photos/video and on which page you want to add/replace the information and we'll get right to it. Fees for this are based on which server package you select. (return to top)

Does Doug provide a guarantee?

You bet. We allow a trial period of one month for you to find items that might need to be changed or otherwise corrected. We want you to be satisfied with your site and... we want you to recommend us to your friends!

Sounds great! How do I get started on my very own website?

One of our partners will arrange a meeting with you to fill out a survey. You can also fill out our online form by clicking here (return to top)
